Curling is a winter sport played by two teams of four players on a long rectangular sheet of ice.
The complex nature of the sport has granted it the nickname of "chess on ice."

It became an official Winter Games event in 1998, however in 2006, was retroactively awarded medals for the 1924 curling demonstration event.
